Well there you have it kids, the votes have been cast and the dust has settled on another year of student elections here at Macquarie. While we settle in for another two years of student leadership, which has brought us great student victories such as fairy lights on Wally’s walk in the past.

Grapeshot will be interviewing outgoing University Council member Cissy Shen, and providing summaries of what the SRC of 2017-2019 has brought us. However, we look forward to seeing what the new SRC hopes to achieve in their new terms, will the high school students be kicked out of the library? Will we finally see that wifi network in the library promised in 2017? Maybe we’ll even get coke in the bubblers! Only time will tell!

No Individuals nominated for the following positions of “Postgraduate Student Representative from the Faculty of Human Sciences” or “Postgraduate Student Representative from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences”. How these positions will be filled moving forward is currently being determined by Governance, so we are yet to report on the process following this. No Student nominated for the position of “Student Representative for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students”, and it is unclear as to who will fill this vacancy.

This election has been dominated by the All1ance ticket, and this is largely a result of their huge campaigning presence. It is yet to be determined whether the ticket which ran on an noted anti-Grapeshot platform will work professionally with Grapeshot in the future. However in the meantime we are pleased to announce your newly elected SRC:
