Student Group Profile: Macquarie University Adventure Time Society

WORDS Ben Nour

C’mon, grab your friends, we’ll go to very distant lands! Or in this case not that distant, assuming you’re a Macquarie University student. If you’re a fan of the popular comedy animation series Adventure Time and have no one else to share your love of Finn and Jake with, then the Macquarie University Adventure Time Society is perfect for you. As Bec Harris, president of the Adventure Time Society explains, “When I discovered Adventure Time, I wasn’t surprised to find that it had a cult following. There were a lot of groups at uni but there was no group that would give people the opportunity to appreciate Adventure Time together, and I knew there were definitely a lot of people out there who would be interested.”

Currently, the society screens the shows episodes twice weekly, on Tuesdays at 1pm in W6B 350 and Wednesdays at 3pm in C5A 301, and the group is currently in the midst of organizing a lock-down slumber party based on the first episode, ‘Slumber Party Panic’.

If you love Adventure Time as much as Candy People love to party then be sure to get involved by joining their FB group. For any other inquiries send them an email at
